How to Configure a Static IP—Windows 11
To connect to the MSS280 using Ethernet (TCP/IP) you must use a static IP for your Windows 11 PC on the same subnet as the MSS280.
The MSS280 subnet is 192.168.1.X and you must configure your PC with an IP of the form 192.168.1.X where X can be any integer between 0 and 255 that is not currently in use. Recall 192.168.1.100 is in use by the MSS280 network ports so this IP address may NOT be used.
We recommend using X>30 but bear in mind this is general recommendation and the exact IP addresses you can use will be affected by your local network setup. Each connected user MUST have a distinct IP address.
Go to Windows SETTINGS then NETWORK & ETHERNET to get to the screen shown below.
Click “Advanced Network Settings”
Find your Ethernet adapter on the list (usually called “Ethernet”) and click on it see the adapter properties
Click EDIT
From the NETWORKING tab select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click PROPERTIES
Select the button beside ‘Use the following IP address”.
Enter your desired IP address in the box beside “IP address:”
Enter 255.255.255.0 in the box beside “Subnet mask”
Once you have completed those steps click OK
